FAQs
Can counselling help with anxiety or depression?
Yes. Counselling offers a safe space to talk through what you’re experiencing, understand what’s contributing to your symptoms, and find practical ways to cope.
How does counselling work?
We talk together about what’s been going on for you — your thoughts, emotions, patterns, and hopes for change. Some sessions may feel more reflective, others more practical. We move at a pace that feels right for you.
I’m an integrative counsellor, which means I tailor sessions to what you need. I’ll support, listen, and gently challenge where helpful — always with respect for your pace.
Is my problem ‘big enough’ for counselling?
If something is affecting your wellbeing - even if it feels small - it’s worth getting support. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling.
Are sessions confidential?
Yes. What you share stays private, except in rare situations where someone’s safety is at risk. We will go through confidentiality clearly in our first session
How can counselling help?
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or wanting change but unsure where to start — counselling can help you make sense of things and feel more in control of your life.
How do I choose the right counsellor?
It’s important to find someone you feel you can trust. A taster session can help you get a feel for whether we’re a good fit.
Is counselling online or face-to-face?
I offer both online and in-person counselling here in Singapore. You can choose the format that feels most comfortable for you, and you’re welcome to switch at any time if your needs change - provided you give me at least a week’s notice.
How does online counselling work — and where can I do it?
Online sessions take place over secure video call. All you need is a private, comfortable space, good internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone
What is the discovery call?
It’s a short, 20 minute call before starting counselling to help us get to know each other. You can share a little about what’s on your mind, ask any questions, and get a feel for how I work. It’s a chance to see if I’m the right counsellor for you.
How long / frequent are counselling sessions?
Counselling sessions are 50 minutes and held weekly. These sessions provide a regular space to explore what you’re experiencing and work towards the goals you want to achieve.
Can counselling help if I’m in crisis or feeling unsafe?
Counselling is not a crisis service, so I can’t provide immediate support outside of sessions. If you are in danger or need urgent help, please contact 1771 (National Mindline), 1767 (Samaritans of Singapore), or go to your nearest A&E.
