Welcome to Counselling with Shenel

  • Do you feel like you’re always caring for others while your own needs come last?

  • Do you struggle to say no or express your true feelings?

  • Do you notice that difficult or overwhelming life experiences impact how you think, feel, or connect with others?

If any of this speaks to you, you’re in the right place - and you don’t have to face it alone.

Counselling is a space to share what’s really going on, make sense of your experiences, and explore ways forward that feel right for you.

Ready to talk? Let’s set up a free 20-minute discovery call so we can see if we’re a good fit.

I support women overwhelmed by difficult life experiences, social pressures, or impossible expectations

For many of the women I work with, social pressures and family expectations — combined with difficult life experiences — have left them feeling silenced, disconnected, or unsure of their own needs.

I take a gentle and collaborative approach, bringing curiosity, empathy, and evidence-based tools to help you build trust in yourself, find your voice, and make positive changes.

Having lived and worked in London, Valencia, Hong Kong, Beijing, and now Singapore, I bring a culturally sensitive and inclusive perspective to my work. I welcome people of all backgrounds and identities.

My training includes:

  • Advanced Diploma in Counselling

  • Level 5 Award in Understanding and Applying Parts Theories

  • Foundation Certificate in Somatic Trauma Theory and Skills

  • Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence training

  • Gender, Sexual and Relationship Diversity Therapy training

  • Dealing with Distress: Suicide and Self-Harm

  • Trauma Healing Through the Senses with Bessel van der Kolk

  • Mindfulness Certification Course

  • Working Creatively with Anxiety

  • Certificate in Online & Telephone Counselling

My approach

I’m an integrative counsellor, which means I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches and tailor sessions to your needs.

Our counselling sessions together might include:

  • Talk therapy to explore your thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations

  • Learning how trauma and stress affect your body and mind

  • Techniques to help you feel safer, calmer, and more in control when things feel overwhelming

  • Creative exercises, such as letter writing or emotions mapping, to help you to better understand yourself

My approach is respectful and collaborative. We move at your pace, and we only explore what feels safe and helpful for you.
